Three Vietnamese destinations Ha Long Bay, Hoi An and Sa Pa were included in a list of 15 top tourist destinations in Southeast Asia by Dubai-based newspaper Gulf News.
“A surreal seascape of limestone karsts and emerald waters. Best experienced on a boat cruise or kayaking trip – pure natural drama,” it describes Ha Long in northern Vietnam.
Around two hours from Hanoi, Ha Long is famous for its thousands of small vegetation-covered islands and towering limestone cliffs.
The newspaper praised Hoi An “a perfectly preserved mix of Asian and French architecture” while called Sa Pa “a misty mountain retreat perfect for trekking and quiet reflection.”
Thailand’s Bangkok topped the list, followed by Singapore, Bali and Palawan.
